In Moscow, at the age of 83, the Soviet and Russian actor, People's Artist of the RSFSR Vyacheslav Shalevich died. This was announced to TASS by the director of the Vakhtangov Theater Kirill Krok.
The date and place of farewell will be known later, Krok added.
Earlier, the media reported that Shalevich became ill on December 1 on the stage of the Vakhtangov Theater during the presentation of the jubilee performance "Pier".
An ambulance was called to the actor, the doctors who arrived provided first aid and offered to go to the hospital, but Shalevich refused to be hospitalized. The next day, the artist was taken to the intensive care unit, on December 3 he fell into a coma.
Vyacheslav Shalevich is known for such films as The Captain's Daughter, Three Poplars on Plyushchikha, Seventeen Moments of Spring, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Master and Margarita.
