The European Court of Human Rights has ordered Russia to pay 900 euros in compensation to The Other Russia activist Igor Berezyuk , convicted on charges of participating in clashes on Manezhnaya Square in Moscow in December 2010. that His lawyer, Dmitry Agranovskiy, told TASS on December 21 the ECHR had concluded that a provision of the European Convention prohibiting the unlawful extension of detention had been violated.

Berezyuk was detained in a criminal case during searches in the office of The Other Russia on January 30, 2011, on the eve of the next Strategy-31 event. On October 28, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow found him guilty of hooliganism, using violence against a government official, involving a minor in a crime, inciting riots and inciting hatred, and sentenced him to five and a half years in prison. When considering the appeal, the Moscow City Court reduced this period by four months. In March 2016, Berezyuk was released.
