The court sent the vice-governor of Primorye under house arrest

The Frunze Court of Vladivostok decided to conclude the vice-governor of Primorye Sergey Sidorenko under house arrest for a period of two months, Interfax reports.

According to the source of the agency in law enforcement agencies, Sidorenko was detained due to abuse of powers in the distribution of financial assistance to the regions of the region, which suffered from typhoon.

“The petition was filed in connection with the initiated criminal case of attempt on fraud (part 1 of Article 30 and part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the source added.

In the administration of Primorye , they did not comment on TASS this information. The regional SK said they did not start a case for an official.

Earlier, the RIA Novosti source in law enforcement agencies said that law enforcement agencies are being verified by Sidorenko.

In May 2016, the former vice-governor of the Primorsky Territory Oleg Yezhov was detained in Vladivostok. A criminal case was opened against the ex-official under part 3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of authority).

According to investigators, Yezhov in 2013 entered into a contract for the construction of a fire depot in the Krasnoarmeysky district of the region. The work was not fully completed, but, despite this, the former vice-governor signed acts on the acceptance of the work performed and instructed to pay more than 24.5 million rubles for the construction.
