Is there a connection between detention and a recent monstrous terrorist attack in Berlin, is not reported.

Police at 00:45 Friday, December 23, local time (02:45 in Moscow) detained two brothers. One of them is 28 years old, and the other is 31 years old, both from Kosovo, according to the police of the city of Essen in the federal land of the North Rhine - Westphalia.

According to law enforcement officers, the brothers planned a terrorist attack in the Center shopping center in the city of Oberhausen. "At the moment, an investigation is underway in order to find out how far the preparation has gone and whether other people took part in it," the report said.

The operational headquarters in Essen received information about the preparation of the attack the day before from the special services. After that, additional police forces were pulled to the shopping center and the Christmas fair adjacent to it.

Currently, police officers are setting true motives for the suspect actions. The police report does not say whether there is a connection between the detention and the recent terrorist attack in the center of Berlin, where the truck entered the crowd gathered at the Christmas fair, crushing 12 people to death.

At the same time, the alleged executor of the attack is 24 -year -old Tunisian Anis Amri , who is now actively looking for German special services, after arriving in Germany, for some time lived in the North Rhine - Westphalia, where the brothers from Kosovo was detained.

The German press previously reported that a passport of the alleged terrorist was found in the cabin of the truck that was used for the attack. The media expressed doubts about whether the document was left in the truck intentionally in order to bring the investigation on a false trace. Later, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Germany Thomas de Mesier said that Amri'sfingerprints were also discovered there.

It is also known that the truck belonged to the Polish company and the terrorist was in it with the driver, a citizen of Poland, who became one of the victims of the attack. The autopsy showed that the 37-year-old trucker Lukash Urban was alive until the moment when the truck crashed into a crowd of people. Experts believe that the terrorist inflicted several injuries to him at a time when he tried to get to the helm to interfere with the arrival of people. After the car stopped, the terrorist shot the Polish driver and ran away.

On Monday evening, December 19, a tractor with a trailer, loaded with steel beams, drove about 80 meters through the territory of the Christmas bazaar in the central part of the Western Berlin. 12 people became victims of the terrorist, 48 were injured. The responsibility for the attack was taken by the Islamic State terrorist group (IG, prohibited in the Russian Federation).

After the attack on December 19, Germany police are in a state of increased readiness. Security measures are also strengthened in other European countries.
