Four detainees in the case of mass poisoning "Boyarstan" in Irkutsk were put under house arrest, one released

On December 23, the Leninsky District Court of Irkutsk sent two more criminal proceedings on the production and distribution of counterfeit alcohol -containing agricultural agents, which caused the mass poisoning of the inhabitants of this city, RIA Novosti reports.

In total, 13 people were detained in this case. On December 21, the court extended the nine of them for the detention for 72 hours. The next day, the court examined the materials on four more detainees. As a result, two were placed under house arrest, the third was extended for the detention for 72 hours, and released the fourth.

At the same time, the court reported that the three defendants needed a translator, but did not specify their nationality.

The number of those killed as a result of poisoning has not yet increased - 74 people . According to the regional Ministry of Health , in 70 cases, the cause of poisoning was methyl alcohol.

More than 30 victims remain in the hospitals of the city, some are in a serious state.

Mass poisoning occurred in the Novo-Lenino Irkutsk microdistrict last weekend. The victims of different ages began to go to hospitals in the evening of December 17. According to preliminary data, they all used the perfume cosmetic product "Bath Bath concentrate".

The Ministry of Health of the region reported that poisoning caused methyl alcohol, or methanol, which was contained in the concentrate, although the packaging included ethyl alcohol. At the same time, the labels contained a warning that this concentrate was dangerous for oral consumption.

In connection with the mass death of people in the entire region, they introduced an emergency regime and the ban on the sale of all non -food alcohol -containing products.

As part of the investigation of the criminal case of the death of people after the use of the alcohol -containing agent, 13 people were detained - entrepreneurs and employees of retail outlets. They were charged under Part 3 of Art. 238 ("Production, storage, sale of goods that do not meet safety requirements that entailed the death of two or more persons") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The investigation of the case is engaged in the central apparatus of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Moscow.
