Israel will not carry out a resolution of the UN Security Council, announcing all settlements in the Palestinian territories, including in East Jerusalem. It is reported by The Jerusalem Post.

"Israel rejects the shameful anti -Israeli resolution and will not comply with its conditions," the country's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in the office. The report notes that they are counting on cooperation with the elected US President Donald Trump in order to reconsider the decision adopted by the UN Security Council.

Despite the call of Netanyahu, the current US administration abstained during the vote and did not use its right veto. All the other 14 members of the UN Security Council voted for the resolution, which prescribes Israel "immediately and completely" to stop the settlement of the Palestinian territories.

At the same time, the elected President Donald Trump insisted on the need for a veto. “The resolution on Israel, which is being considered by the UN Security Council, should be covered,” he wrote . “The United States has long adhered to the position in which the world between Israelis and Palestinians is achieving only through direct negotiations between the parties, and not through imposing conditions through the UN.” As the elected president noted, the adoption of the resolution "puts Israel in a very unprofitable negotiation position and is extremely unfair to all Israelis."

The resolution was introduced to the Council of Council of Egypt, but later removed its votes. After that, the resolution was repeatedly proposed by New Zealand, Senegal, Venezuela and Malaysia.

On Saturday, Netanyahu ordered the recall of ambassadors from New Zealand and Senegal for consultations. The prime minister also abolished the planned visit to Israel of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Senegal and instructed to freeze all programs to help this country.

In October, the Minister of Education of Israel Naphtili Bennett said that the Israeli authorities freeze cooperation with UNESCO after the organization approved a resolution, which denies the connection of the Jewish people with the temple mountain. “Your decision denies history and encourages terror,” Bennetus was said to the organization. “I sincerely hope that UNESCO will stop this failure and stop denying the story.”

UNESCO General Director Irina Bokova opposed the adoption of the draft resolution. “Jerusalem is a sacred city in three monotheistic religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam,” she said. “Denial, concealment or removal of any of the Jewish, Christian or Muslim traditions undermines the integrity of this place, and also is contrary to the grounds for its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.”
