Singer George Michael dies

Singer George Michael died on December 25 at the age of 53. According to The Mirror, Michael died at his home in Oxfordshire. Nothing is known yet about the cause of death.

The BBC clarifies that the death occurred during the day. The police did not find any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

Michael's family announced that there would be no further comment from them at this time.

Since the late 1980s he has been a successful solo performer. In total, he sold more than one hundred million copies of his albums. In 1987 and 1988, Michael won Grammy Awards for his debut solo album Faith and for the song I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me), recorded with Aretha Franklin.
