In Zheleznodorozhny, on December 25, the organizer of the rally, member of the Communist Party Alexander Goryachev, was detained. He is currently at the police station. Vera Gorbunova reported this to the OVD-Info hotline.
According to her, the organizers notified the city administration about the behavior of the rally (the topic is the expression of the opinion of the townspeople about the unification of Zheleznodorozhny and Balashikha, support for the resolution adopted at the Civil Forum, campaigning by the Communist Party) to the city administration.
In response, the local authorities offered to move the rally to another place - allegedly, a New Year's event was already planned on the declared square. However, as the organizers of the rally found out from city posters, it is at the place proposed by the administration that the holiday will be held, and the declared place will be free. Goryachev appealed to the police and the prosecutor's office with a statement that the city administration was preventing the rally from being held, which violated the constitutional right of citizens to assemble. However, no clear answer was received before the appointed day of the rally.
As a result, today it was decided to rally at the original place. Nearby, according to Gorbunova, it seems that some kind of New Year's event was spontaneously organized - music and megaphones interfered with the rally, and there were almost no people at the so-called New Year's holiday.
When Goryachev announced the end of the rally, police officers approached him and offered to go to the police station to give explanations. At the precinct, it turned out that Goryachev was being charged with an administrative violation under Part 1 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Violation by the organizer of a public event of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, the maximum sanction is a fine of 20,000 rubles or compulsory work up to forty hours). In addition, the police called witnesses and are conducting an inspection of Goryachev's belongings. Perhaps the trial will take place today.
