255 years ago, on December 27, 1761, Mikhail Bogdanovich (Michael Andreas) Barclay de Tolly, Russian commander, prince, feldmarshal was born. In 1812, he, being the Minister of War and the Commander of the Russian Army, began to carry out a departure plan deep into the country, which ultimately led to the death of the "Great Army" of Napoleon in Russia. He distinguished himself in the Battle of Borodino, in which he actually led the actions of all Russian troops, and later in the "Battle of Peoples" near Leipzig and during the capture of Paris.
