
Russian President Vladimir Putin put into operation a gas pipeline ensuring the supply of fuel to Crimea from mainland Russia. It is reported by Interfax .
The launch ceremony in the video conference mode was attended by the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov and the temporarily acting governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov, as well as the general director of Chernomorneftegaz Igor Shabanov.
Putin told the fact that Chernomorneftegaz completed the accession of Crimea to the system of main gas pipelines of Russia on December 23 during the annual press conference . Then he added that the "Big Russian Gas" will come to the peninsula in two to three days.
The total length of the gas pipeline in the Crimea is 358.7 kilometers. Two threads of the pipeline pass through the Lake Tuzla and the Kerch Strait, there is also a discharge to Simferopol. Construction was conducted by Stroygazmontazh, Arkady Rotenberg, the cost of the project was estimated at 20 billion rubles.
At a press conference, Putin also said that after the start of gas supplies to the Crimea, two power plants with a capacity of 470 megavatts each will also be built there. After that, the total energy generation in Crimea will be about 2 thousand megawatts.
