The special prosecutor's office of Montenegro issued international orders for the arrest of two Russians and three Serbs, who are suspected of involvement in an attempt by a coup d'etat in order to overthrow the government of the country. This was stated by the press service of the department, reports TASS.

"The management of a special prosecutor’s office informs the public that in connection with criminal offenses - the creation of a criminal organization and terrorism - issued an arrest warrant against two Russian and three Serbian citizens," the report said. According to the agency, all information about the wanted ones is posted in the Interpol database.

On December 7, Dnevne Novine, citing sources in government agencies, reported that the Montenegrin authorities put on the international wanted list Eduard Shirokov and Vladimir Popov. They are suspected of trying to organize an armed coup in the country and attempt on Prime Minister Milo Dzhukanovich.

Together with the Russians, three citizens of Serbia, the prediction of Bogichevich, Milos Jovanovich and Neman Ristich were put on the wanted list. The latter is known as the leader of the ultrapatriotic Serbian movement "Testament", who has served the deadline for the murder. In 2012, Ristich was released and actively joined in political activity.

On November 11, The Guardian reported that during an unexpected October visit to Belgrade, the Secretary of the Council of People's Commissars of Russia Nikolai Patrushev apologized for the Russians who were preparing a coup in Montenegro. He assured that the conspirators acted without the sanction of the Kremlin. It was noted that the detainees of Russians were deported from Serbia only after Patrushev’s intervention.
