On December 28, the Russian embassy in Syria was shelled in Damascus. This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The shelling took place at 13:00 and 13:19 Moscow time. There is no mention of casualties in the message.
“One mine, which, fortunately, did not explode, fell in the courtyard of the complex of administrative buildings of the Russian diplomatic mission. The second is in close proximity to its territory," the Foreign Ministry said.
We consider this yet another provocation by extremists who oppose a peaceful settlement in Syria as confirmation of their intention to continue to sow terror and violence, to maintain an atmosphere of fear among civilians in the Syrian capital, inflicting vile strikes from their secret shelters under the guise of a “human shield”.
