The North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a resident of Astrakhan Ruslan Magomadov to 16 years in a maximum regime in the case of a war in Syria on the side of the Islamic State. This was reported by Interfax-South with reference to the Federal Security Service of the Astrakhan Region, which is the investigation.

The defendant was announced guilty under article 205.3 (training in terrorism; period from 15 years to lifelong) and part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization; at the time of the imputed episode, it provided for from 5 to 10 years of colony).

According to the plot of the case, in 2015, Magomadov underwent training in the camp of the Islamic State, and then fought in the Rakki area as part of one of the IS - Kazakh jamaat.

The same court sentenced to another case, which was in the production of the Astrakhan FSB. Citizen of Kyrgyzstan Ravshan Akbarov, who was also charged with members of the IG, received eight years of strict regime.

It was announced guilty under the same article 205.3, as well as in part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code (participation in illegal armed formation; from 8 to 15 years of colony).

It is claimed that in 2015, Akbarov went to the Iraqi city of Mosul captured by the Islamic State, where he traveled to a certain “terrorist center” of the organization, after which he joined a certain Jamaat “Katiba Grab” (Ar. “Battalion of Streeps”), subordinate IGO.

Based on the period received by Magomadov, it is difficult to conclude whether he recognized whether he was specified and whether he went on a deal with the prosecutor’s office, although this seems likely. Meanwhile, the sentence of Akbarov allows us to draw an unambiguous conclusion about the pre -trial agreement and the consideration of the case in a special order.
