Rostovite robbed Sberbank, threatening to blow up diplomat

A Sberbank branch in Rostov-on-Don was robbed by a man who threatened to blow up a diplomat, the press service of the credit institution reported to Interfax.

It is alleged that a man entered the branch on Lenin Street and threatened the cashier with an explosive device in his briefcase. The bank employee pressed the panic button.

According to a bank representative, the robber demanded “a relatively small amount, but ran away literally two minutes later,”

“Apparently he thought something was wrong, so he left the office. After this, a rapid response team arrived. Law enforcement agencies are currently on the scene. Depositors do not need to worry - all funds are insured,” he said.

Earlier in December, a Rostovite came to the bank and handed the employee a note in which he threatened to blow up the building if he was not given the money. He was detained.
