Battle with hacking

In Moscow, it was already completely prepared for the abolition of sanctions and rebooting. Such expectations, it would seem, have every reason. The elected US president headed for isolationism and would like to deal with international affairs as little as possible. In particular, he does not need a headache about Ukraine at all - he repeatedly said that let Europe be engaged in Ukraine. The appearance on the advance of the Russian-American relations of such an Apostle “Real Politician” as Henry Kissinger is fully consistent with this task.

Tom Graham, a man from the team of Kissinger, who is being sent to the place of the ambassador in Moscow, in the summer gave an interview in which he silently agreed with the name "Russophile" and said that Crimea was a secondary problem of bilateral relations:

If there is an understanding that Russian -American relations are more than the problem of Crimea, then they will find a solution to the problem of Crimea. I think there are many ways to do this, and here the Russian side should also demonstrate its creativity.

The British historian Naill Ferguson - a like -minded and biographer Kissinger - has already shown creativity. In a large article "Russian Question" he writes:

So the soil for lifting sanctions is prepared. Nobody expected sharp steps from the "lame duck" of Barack Obama - this would not meet the American tradition and his promise to ensure a smooth transition of power. Apparently, in line with the expected warming, it is necessary to consider the unusually soft statements of Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the day of the security organs - in the past in such speeches, he usually talked about hundreds of arrested enemy spies. And at a large press conference, he did not tell that it was he who answered Barack Obama to his warning about the consequences of hacker hacks, - he referred to confidentiality, probably believing the question of exhausted.

But the consequences have come . The Lame Duck decided to leave the “caught” for the future. The sanctions list is supplemented by the names of organizations such as GRU and the FSB. 35 diplomats expel from the United States. There has been no such mass expulsion since March 2001, when in response to the exposure of the Russian agent Robert Hanssen, the country was forced to leave 51 diplomats.

These decisions were preceded by the publication of the 13-page report of the Ministry of Internal Security and the FBI, which contains technical details of hacks, that is, the very revelation that the Kremlin so annoyingly achieved.

Moscow responded with statements about " sanctions hysteria " and " agony of political corpses ."

But not as simple as Moscow would like. Republican party bosses - Paul Ryan and Mitch Makkonnell - unanimously approved Obama’s decision and said that these measures were still few. Everyone agrees that a full -scale investigation is necessary - if only because after four years, Donald Trump himself can become a victim of hacking. The only question is whether this investigation will conduct the existing committees of the Intelligence Chamber or specially established for this purpose. In these circumstances, the elected president, even the day before, dismissed from Russian cyberosis, as from an annoying fly, was forced to say that next week he would meet with intelligence leaders and listen to their report on this subject.

In the near future we will learn new details from the new "Rodchenkov" - although not as picturesque as with doping tests. Yesterday, The New York Times accompanied the message about new sanctions and the expulsion of diplomats with an article on how Russian state structures recruit hackers. The article contains the revelations of the notorious Alexander Vyari and Dmitry Artimovich . The first from persistent proposals of the FSB emigrated from Russia, and the second was offered a deal when he was in court for participating in the hacking of the Aeroflot database. But he, according to him, preferred to sit out.

If this goes on, Trump will no longer be able to say that Russia's involvement has not been proven.
