Spicer explained that the report is about the hacking of the systems, and this is “a completely different story”, therefore, “no evidence that they (the Russians) really affected the elections.” He added that the Trump team is waiting for the “final report”, which specifically talk about Moscow’s intervention in the US presidential election.

The previously elected US president doubted the involvement of Russia's authorities in cyber attacks on the servers of the Democratic Party. “I also know things that other people do not know, and therefore we cannot be sure (in Russia's involvement in hacking),” Trump said.

On December 29, the White House imposed sanctions against Russia due to the alleged intervention in the elections using cyber attacks controlled by the Kremlin. The list included six people and five Russian organizations, including GRU and the FSB. US President Barack Obama also ordered to send 35 diplomats from the country, on January 1 they flew out of Washington to Moscow.

The Russian Foreign Ministry proposed to send several American diplomats from Russia, but Russian President Vladimir Putin did not support this idea. Trump called this solution "Great Step."
