Turkish authorities fired 6 thousand civil servants

The authorities of Turkey fired more than 6 thousand budgetary sector employees due to ties with the opposition preacher Fethullah Gulen, suspected of organizing an armed coup.

Called by more than two and a half thousand police officers and almost two thousand officials of the Ministry of Justice. About a thousand doctors and more than six hundred scientists were also removed from the post.

An attempt by a military coup occurred in Turkey on the night of July 16 last year. As part of the investigation, Ankara detained and removed tens of thousands of citizens from office. A state of emergency was introduced in the country, which was extended on January 3.

This week, the court in Turkey sentenced two military personnel to the life imprisonment on charges of involvement in the preparation of the coup.
