“Transbaikal worker”: the ex-head of the region was interrogated for three hours in the case of delayed wages

The former head of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Konstantin Ilkovsky, was interrogated for three hours in the case of delayed salaries for public sector employees, a source in the region’s law enforcement agencies told Zabaikalsky Rabochiy.

It is noted that this happened on December 15, when investigators in Moscow detained the former leaders of the “Single Customer Service” of the region, Maxim Mayorov and Gennady Litvintsev, in another criminal case.

Ilkovsky is not a defendant in the case of the Single Customer Service, but is a witness in the case of abuse of power against the former Minister of Finance of the region Andrei Kefer. According to the interlocutor of Zabaikalsky Rabochiy, the former head of the region had not previously been in contact with the investigation.

“Ilkovsky, indeed, was in the same office with Litvintsev and Vyzhlov when the latter were detained in the capital. However, there were no questions to him regarding the “Single Customer Service” case. But in the Kefer case, where Ilkovsky is a witness, it was decided to interrogate the former governor, since there was no way to find him before. After a three-hour interrogation, Mr. Ilkovsky was released,” the publication’s source said.

According to investigators, during the execution of the 2014 budget, the consolidated budget of the region did not receive 1.5 billion rubles, which should have been sent to the federal center. This led to the fact that state employees' salaries were delayed in the first quarter of 2015, more than 60 teachers suspended work, and spring holidays began three days earlier.

The defendant in this case, Kefer, left the post of regional minister and headed the finance committee of the Chita mayor's office.
