Journalist Vadim Rechkalov died

The well-known journalist Vadim Rechkalov, one of the most qualified Russian specialists in hot spots, has died at the age of 53. This is reported by " Kommersant " and " Moskovsky Komsomolets ".

Vadim Rechkalov worked for Obshchaya Gazeta, Moskovskiye Novosti, Izvestia and Moskovsky Komsomolets.

The journalist has repeatedly been on business trips in Chechnya and South Ossetia. He had a number of professional journalistic awards. In particular, in 2004, Rechkalov won the Artem Borovik Prize for a series of publications about terrorism and terrorists, and in 2008 he was awarded a diploma for covering military operations in South Ossetia.

Among the well-known materials of Vadim Rechkalov is the article “To kill a little”, dedicated to the case of Novaya Gazeta journalist Anna Politkovskaya. Also widely known is his publication "The Magnetic Field", dedicated to the death of Sergei Magnitsky.
