
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking on Sunday with a video message in connection with a terrorist attack in Jerusalem, when the truck crashed into a group of Israeli military, said that his performer was associated with the "Islamic state" (a group banned in the Russian Federation).
Netanyahu said that four Israeli soldiers were killed during the attack, three of them are women and one man. He said that the authorities know the personality of the attacker.
Netanyahu pointed to the similarity of terrorist attacks in Jerusalem with earlier terrorist attacks in which trucks were used - July 14, 2016 in Nice, France, and December 19, 2016 in Berlin, Germany.
“We are fighting this problem, and we will overcome it,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
In Israel, the names of two military personnel and officers who died as a result of the attack are allowed to publish. The press service of the IDF said that the 20-year-old Lieutenant Yael Yekutiel died under the terrorist attack. As well as cadets: 22-year-old Shir Hajjj from Maala Adumim and 20-year-old Shira Cur from Haifa. Earlier it was announced that as a result of the attack, 20-year-old Erez Orbach from the village of Alon-Swit died.
On Sunday, the Mercedes truck moved out of the road and crashed into the military, who left the bus. The soldiers immediately opened fire. The attacker was killed on the spot. The authorities of Israel called the terrorist attack.
