The Building Committee of St. Petersburg allocated another 2 billion rubles for the construction of Zenit-Arena. It is reported by Fontanka.ru.

The contract with the general contractor - the company Metrostroy - was concluded on December 29 without a competition. All money was paid in advance.

Officials said that the estimate was approved on the 22nd by the city center of the State Expertise. It is claimed that the allocated money should go to the arrangement of access control zones, as well as to adapt the stadium to the Confederations Cup and the 2018 World Cup. The deadline for the end of the work is March 31, 2017.

December 20, notes Fontanka.ru, a similar contract worth 1 billion rubles was concluded with Metrostroem. These funds were allocated for completing the stadium. At the same time, officials assured that the total estimate of construction - 42 billion rubles - did not change with the conclusion of this contract, since the city authorities intend to recover a billion transferred by Metrostroya later with one of the former general contractors.

Meanwhile, the same 29th, when Metrostroya was transferred 2 billion, Zenit Arena was officially commissioned. As Vice-Governor Igor Albin explained, it was decided to accept the object of the object in two stages: in December, the main work was accepted, and by the end of March, completed the dilution.

Zenit Arena was laid on Krestovsky Island in 2007. Her project was adjusted three times: in 2008, 2010 and 2013. Each time, the cost of the stadium increased; As a result, it grew from the original 6.7 billion rubles to 43.8 billion.

On July 13, workers of subcontracting organizations held a protest due to non-payment of salaries. OMON arrived at the place, but no power actions followed. The workers diverged after communicating with officials of the city administration and the prosecutor's office.

Two days later, the authorities of St. Petersburgterminated contracts with the general contractors of construction - LLC "Engineering Corporation" Transstroy "and JSC" Transstroy Corporation ".

The choice of the new general contractor became known on August 10 . Metrostroy was obliged to complete the stadium by December 26.

On August 17, the administration of St. Petersburg for 2.6 billion rubles cut funds allocated for the construction of schools , kindergartens and hospitals, and the released money was sent to the construction of the Zenit-Arena.

In early November, it became known that the FIFA commission rejected the rolling field "Zenit-Arena" . In mid-November, the former vice-governor of St. Petersburg, Marat Oganesyan, was arrested in the case of embezzlement of more than 50 million rubles during the Zenit-Arena arrangement.
