The media learned about plans to prohibit the sale of cigarettes to everyone born after 2014

The Ministry of Health of Russia has prepared an “anti -tobacco concept”, which also provides for a ban on the sale of tobacco to people born in 2015 and later after reaching their age.

This was reported by the newspaper "Izvestia" with reference to the text of the document. According to the newspaper, the ban can be introduced since 2033.

The document, which was developed on behalf of the head of the Ministry of Health, Veronika Skvortsova, has already been sent to a number of federal departments, Izvestia claims. The concept is aimed at reducing tobacco consumption among Russians by 2025 to 25 %, the publication notes.

The anti -tobacco concept also provides for the introduction of a ban on smoking tobacco in communal apartments, in all types of public transport, at public transport stops and at a distance of 3 m from them. According to the publication, a ban on smoking at a distance of 3 m from the entrances to the buildings of shopping centers, in underground and aboveground pedestrian crossings and in a personal car will also be introduced if children are in it. In addition, it will not be possible to smoke next to people object to smoking tobacco in any room, including in their own apartment.

If the concept is accepted, the ban on the import, production and turnover of non -smoke -cereal tobacco products will also be introduced, the newspaper writes.

In May last year, the Ministry of Health proposed limiting access to tobacco to people who were born after 2015. The corresponding proposal was included in the concept of counteracting tobacco consumption for 2016–2020. According to the head of the department, Veronika Skvortsova, the “main task” of the authorities is the creation of conditions “under which access to tobacco products for a new generation, that is, our citizens born after 2015, will be impossible throughout life”.
