A man who attacked people with a hammer was detained in St. Petersburg.

The Petersburg police detained a man with a hammer who attacked the residents of the southern regions of the city all the New Year holidays.

According to Fontanka, a robber with a hammer was taken with a red -handed on January 8 on Zheleznodorozhnaya Street, 50, in Pushkin. According to preliminary information, he managed to attack a woman in the front door of one of the houses. The criminal entered the porch for the victim. On the way back, he was noticed by employees of the criminal investigation department of the Pushkin district who patrolled the city. One of the police officers, during the detention, received a sliding blow with a hammer in the head.

In total, since the beginning of the year, the criminal managed to make a number of attacks in the Moscow and Pushkin districts. In the Moscow district, these were three episodes in the first three days of the New Year. On January 1, on Kosmonautov Avenue, then on January 2 on Gagarin Avenue and Aviation Street, where a 24-year-old student from Ukraine suffered. He took valuable property from the victims.

The operatives blocked the territory, on duty in trains, at the railway stations Avenue of Slava and Kupchino, as well as in minibuses. However, the criminal with a hammer could leave for Pushkin and continued to attack. So, on January 5, he attacked the driver and nurse heated to the car, and on the 7th-on the spouses who received blows with a hammer on the back of the head.

The police actually blocked Pushkin streets in the places of the appearance of the robber and were able to detain the suspect with the hammer. At the same time, he found part of the stolen.

All the man is accused of eight robberies. At the same time, several attacks will most likely investigate additionally. For example, the student who received a hammer still has not recovered, and the attack can be qualified under the articles “Entertaining for Murder” or “deliberate causing harm to health”.
