Nado heads called to remove Russia from all international competitions

National anti -doping organizations of 19 countries called on to remove Russia from all sports competitions, as well as to deprive it of the right to conduct international tournaments. This is stated in a press release issued according to the results of the Nado summit in Dublin.

"Based on the new, irrefutable evidence of the existence of the state doping system in Russia given by McLaren and its team, the group of leaders calls for the exclusion of Russian sports organizations from all international competitions until sports and the anti -doping system in the country are completely compliance with the WADA code," the statement said.

"The leaders are also asking to transfer all major international competitions from Russia and establish a moratorium on holding the upcoming tournaments in the country," the document says.

At the same time, Russian athletes who are not convicted of doping will be able to take part in competitions, but only as neutral athletes.

A joint statement was signed by the anti -doping organizations of the USA, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Croatia, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa and Switzerland.

In response to this, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, the president of the Russian Football Union Vitaliy Mutko, called on Nado to do his job and collect urine , and not intervene in politics.

Commenting on the Nado statement, Vitaly Mutko said that the call to deprive Russia of the right to participate in any competition is a thoughtful attack, the purpose of which is to discredit Russian sports.

“Anti-doping organizations must control the situation in their countries, collect urine, but not interfere with politics. There is absolute politics behind this. We behave very, very decent. But it doesn’t work out with the whole world, unfortunately. Everyone should do their own business, some samples, issuing therapeutic exceptions, and someone cites Mutko R-Sport.

According to him, there is no evidence of the existence of the state doping program in Russia. “There is a“ gold ”line about a certain state program, but there are no confirming facts. There was no fact, no, and it will not be. This is a common trend that the Russians are to blame. We need all uncompetitive. I can say that we did and will do everything to protect our athletes,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

On December 9, Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren presented the second part of the report prepared for WADA. The investigation showed that over 1,000 Russian athletes in almost 30 types of Olympic and Paralympic sports were involved in the doping program of Russia.

After that, the IOC announced the start of the investigation against 28 Russian athletes participating in the Games in Sochi.

To date, it is known about the removal of 12 Russians from the competition. Among them are the champions of the Olympics in Sochi, Skryzhnik Alexander Perevkov and skeletonist Alexander Tretyakov, silver and bronze medalists of the games.
