The speaker of the legislative assembly criticized the Barnaul mayor's office for the general plan

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Altai Territory Alexander Romanenko criticized the behind-the-scenes discussion of the master plan of Barnaul. The document needs to be corrected, he said. The mayor's office canceled all public hearings after mass discontent.

The adoption of the master plan for the development of Barnaul for the next 20 years should be public, Romanenko said. The hearings started on January 10 in the Tsentralny settlement with the question of building a solid waste landfill in the area. Taiga.info cited the story of the deputy of the Legislative Assembly Alexander Vakaev about the meeting: about 200 people were on the registration lists in advance, the hall was designed for 300, but the local residents, who gathered up to 1 thousand, managed to disrupt the hearings.

On January 11, Alexander Romanenko commented on the conflict: “The adoption of the master plan for the development of Barnaul for the next 20 years cannot be behind the scenes, and even more so contrary to people's opinion. It is unacceptable. The city authorities must admit that the residents of Barnaul were not sufficiently informed, they mainly used rumors, and as a result, most of those who came could not take part in the hearings. For this, as they said in the good old days, you can put a party card on the table.

The activity of the inhabitants of Barnaul should please the authorities, and not strain, the speaker of the legislative assembly told the press service of the regional branch of "ER". He clarified that a new program of public hearings will be developed with the participation of the mayor's office, regional and federal deputies.

The administration of Barnaul, headed by United Russia Sergei Dugin, admitted the mistake. On January 11, the mayor's office announced the cancellation of all scheduled public hearings on the master plan. “Information about the time and place <...> will be communicated to the residents of the city of Barnaul additionally,” the press service assured.
