
Roskomnadzor blocked the VPN service hideme.ru. This was stated by the representative of the department Vadim Ampelonsky, Interfax reports .
The service was blocked by the decision of the Buzuluk district court of the Orenburg region, Ampelonsky noted. The court found that the resource provides users with the possibility of accessing sites containing extremist materials. Information distributed through hideme.ru was recognized as a prohibited court in Russia. The lawsuit was filed by the prosecutor's office.
According to Ampelonsky, the prosecutor’s bodies will continue to file claims for blocking the VPN services this year. “We, in turn, will fulfill the courts of courts that have entered into force in the form in which they are written. There will be a demand for us to identify and block the“ mirrors ” - we will identify and block,” he said.
According to a representative of hideme.ru in Russia, the service fell under blocking despite the fulfillment of Roskomnadzor’s requirements to remove the form of anonymizer, that is, a special program that allows you to open blocked Internet resources. Using hidemy.name and similar services, users can remain anonymous when visiting sites, blogs, sending instant and mail, as well as when working with other applications.
