His wife was detained along with a member of the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Crimea

Simultaneously with the activist of the Ukrainian Cultural Center of Crimea, Andrei Vinogradov, on the morning of January 12, his wife Natalya was detained in Simferopol. As it became known to the Crimean human rights group, after a search that took place in the morning at the Vinogradovs' house, both spouses were taken to the regional department of the FSB. At about 2:00 pm, the woman was released, returning her phone and taking a non-disclosure receipt from her.

According to the information of the Crimean Human Rights Group, at 16:00 on January 12, Vinogradov was still in the FSB department. A lawyer was allowed to see him.

Earlier it was reported that Vinogradov was being taken for interrogation. He managed to inform the head of the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Crimea, Leonid Kuzmin, about this. After that, communication with Vinogradov was interrupted.

Information about the reasons for the detention was not available at the time of writing. According to the Crimean Human Rights Group, during a search of the Vinogradovs' house, computers and telephones were confiscated.

The Ukrainian Cultural Center in Crimea was founded in May 2015. Among its goals, the organization calls the preservation of the identity of the Ukrainian people on the Crimean peninsula, the revival of the Ukrainian language, the establishment of cultural and humanitarian ties with Ukraine.
