Rosselkhoznadzor: A quarter of products sold in Russia are falsified

In Russia, up to a quarter of food products is falsified. This was stated by the official representative of Rosselkhoznadzor Alexei Alekseenko at the Gaidar forum, Interfax reports .

“We have a problem that inflicts tremendous damage to us and can bring it even more - this is mass falsification of food products. According to our selective checks, a quarter of all food products, all types, with the exception of one, are falsified only in China,” we have no falsify, ”said Alekseenko.

In particular, the names are replaced in the fish market, the fish is “pumped up” with polyphosphates so that the glaze holds more moisture. “All this is in order to get into our pocket,” said the representative of the RSHN. “But along the way, it also leads to the fact that unscrupulous companies receive a head start compared to conscientious manufacturers.”

“That is, there is a process of reverse selection: fraudsters win, and those companies that produce normal products are economically in an extremely disadvantage,” Alekseenko emphasized. “This is a peak, this is a corkscrew, and here the state, of course, should restore order, create conditions for the development of manufacturers of raw materials and processing industries.”

The embargo introduced by Russia for food supply in response to Western sanctions led to an increase in food prices and increasing the share of falsetics. In November, President Vladimir Putin at the forum of the "All -Russian Popular Front" stated that Russia would pull as long as possible "with the abolition of the embargo.

"We really did it consciously and, in fact, took advantage of the, frankly, short -sighted decisions that were made in relation to our country by our so -called partners who introduced these sanctions," Putin said. Thus, the president is sure, Russia has created the conditions for the production of agricultural products within the country.

At the same time, the president emphasized that the consumer must receive quality goods. “Of course, all manufacturers within the country are interested in this situation to last as long as possible,” Putin noted. “But now I will say completely unexpected, maybe a criminal thing, a thing: the consumer is interested in receiving good quality goods at the lowest price and therefore we need to create competitive conditions.”
