In the south of Thailand in the city of Hat Yai, a military fighter crashed during an air show. The country's Ministry of Defense told AFP that the pilot was killed.
The crash occurred at a distance from spectators, so no one except the 35-year-old pilot was injured. The crashed aircraft was a Swedish-made Saab JAS 39 fourth-generation fighter.
The country's authorities have not reported anything about the causes of the disaster.
The air show at Hat Yai Airport was timed to coincide with Children's Day, which is celebrated in Thailand on the second Saturday of January.
