In St. Petersburg, the police warned the participants of the bicycle parade gathered on Saturday, January 14, in an engineering square in costumes of Santa Claus and Snow Maiden, that if the column moves, cyclists will be detained for participation in an inconsistent campaign. This was reported by the Fontanka online publication with reference to its own correspondent.
“Since the event does not have any specific organizer, the police statement was somewhat discouraged,” the Fontanka quotes the words of the participants in the bicycle parade.
According to the publication, by 14 o’clock - the time of the start of the event - 100-200 people gathered in the square. At the same time, as the Rosbalt correspondent reports , the police said that if more than 50 people participate in the parade, the event will be considered “sports-mass” and will require approval.
As a result, the bicycle parade nevertheless began , but with a delay of 40 minutes. In order not to encounter claims from law enforcement agencies, the action participants were divided into groups of 20 people with a distance of at least 80 meters between them.
