At the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater, the Christmas opera was first held on January 11. A non -constituent performance with two hundred participants (theater soloists, two choirs: a children and an adult, an orchestra, ballet, mimmys) was created by order of the Novosibirsk diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

But - how you read the history of the question - you see almost a parable.

Let's start with the Nutcracker. The world premiere was held at the Mariinsky Theater in 1892, in a very conservative era of Alexander III. The chief prosecutor of the Holy Synod was K.P. Pobedonostsev. The strict Konstantin Petrovich and other contemporaries did not cause suspicion. Now we have seen ...

But if he is a werewolf - who is still under threat in the repertoires of Novosibirsk? S.T. Aksakov with the "Scarlet Flower" (the plot is the same)? "Tsarevna-Frog"? And if suddenly they put Prokofiev’s ballet “Stone Flower” - what will they be for the mistress of the Copper Mountain?

I can’t judge the opera of Iraida Salnikova “Christmas”: I have not heard, except for the fragment on YouTube. But there are only bows, two hundred souls on the stage, a tireless salute takes off on the back, as if the diocese celebrates in the opera not the Christmas of Christ, but the day of the tanker. I will not undertake to judge the other works of the composer: I send experts to the same YouTube, the notes are laid out. I cannot judge the work of Oleg Nudnenko. However, the director of the Christmas, the cantata-oratorios of Iraida Salnikova “The Intercessor of the Russian Land” and its own cantata-oratia about Vladimir-Brutor gave a “new” extensive commentary. Nudnenko and Art Holding “The Holy World” are preparing the opening ceremony of covering tournaments in the Greco-Roman wrestling, volleyball tournaments of Russian Railways and other holidays. Two weeks before the Christmas mystery, the director released another premiere in Novosibirsk - the Christmas Representative of Morozko. What a magnificent, victorious, already familiar mixture: the triumph of patriotism with fireworks, projects of proven authors, the synthesis of tenderness with the death of the show (Rev. Sergius of Radonezh in his canvas feloni, with the corns from the carpenth ax in his hands, such an approach is somehow especially to the face ...).

All this is on the stage of one of the best "opera houses" of Russia. In the ideological struggle of the "Christmas" with the "Nutcracker".

And - if not the formidable glory of Vladyka Tikhon, deserved in previous battles - no one would most likely notice this holy story.

12 years ago I was already a believer, but not yet baptized. After the first cooperation, I committed this sacrament and has not yet been disappointed, although not churching. It is difficult to live in the country of Orthodox culture and do not treat it in any way.

We collect the money for the production with the whole world. Tomsk Philharmonic, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Novosibirsk City Hall, Alexander Karelin Foundation. The governor of the Novosibirsk region helped. The last production is the funds of parishioners.

I am a director of mass events by first education, for me the volume is important. I am engaged in urban and governor’s Christmas trees because in winter there is nothing more to do in Russia. Until this opera has appeared. I have more than 1700 productions, concerts, show, festive events, there are several children's performances, stadium productions in Russia, China, Kazakhstan. In the modern world, the work with the clip thinking of the musical advantages of the work is not always enough: a comprehensive light approach, costume, scenography is needed. Theaters usually cannot boast of technological capabilities, and the show industry is ahead of budgetary cultural institutions. I always use the latest technologies.

Classic is easy to put. And it is difficult to assess the work of the musician. Every year, the premiere came out, Iraid Salnikova as a composer is growing. We hear: “First, learn to compose as Tchaikovsky ...” But Tchaikovsky also has the first opera - “governor” - not the strongest.

And our main task is not to “operate”, but to help people become better.
