Mark Galperin was taken from the police department to the Basmanny court

Mark Galperin, detained on Saturday, January 14, at a gathering in support of political prisoners in Moscow, was taken from the Basmanny police station to the Basmanny District Court at about 12:00 on January 16. The court hearing was scheduled for 11 am.

Galperin is the only one of those detained at the gathering on January 14 who was left in the police department until the trial. Protocols were drawn up against him regarding disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer and violation by the organizer of a public event of the procedure for holding it. Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses provides for a fine of up to a thousand rubles or up to 15 days of arrest, and according to the second part of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, an oppositionist may face a fine of 20 to 30 thousand rubles, up to 50 hours of compulsory labor, or up to 10 days of arrest.

In total, at least thirty people were detained at the monument to Griboyedov on Chistye Prudy, where a gathering was planned in support of political prisoners and with a demand for approval of an anti-crisis rally.
