In Istanbul, a suspect of an attack on a nightclub on New Year's Eve was detained in Istanbul

The Turkish police detained the suspect in the attack on the Reina nightclub in Istanbul. According to the IHLAS agency, a native of Uzbekistan Abdulgadir Masharipov was detained during a special operation on the territory of one of the residential complexes in the Istanbul district of Esenjurt.

Masharipov was hiding in an apartment with his friend. According to Hurriyet, along with the suspect in the apartment was his four -year -old son.

The alleged terrorist is aimed at security management. He has to undergo a medical examination and interrogation.

On January 8, the Turkish policefirst named the name of the suspect in the organization of the attack. The message emphasized that Masharipov is also known as Abu Muhammad Khorasan.

According to local media, Masharipov is 28 years old. He came to Turkey from Syria under the guise of a refugee a few months before the crime. Before arriving in Istanbul, the alleged terrorist lived in a horse.

According to the sources of the publication, Masharipov released 180 bullets to visitors to the club. After that, he went into the kitchen, changed clothes and left the building with people running out of the club.

Then Masharipov caught a taxi, drove to the neighboring area, but could not pay off the driver, as he forgot the money in the jacket left in the kitchen of the night club. It was possible to find it according to the description made by a taxi driver and information from surveillance cameras.

Prior to this, an attack on the club was suspected by a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, Yahya Mashrapov . He later discovered in Bishkek. According to him, Turkish law enforcement agencies interviewed him, but then released him.

On New Year's Eve, at about 1:30 local time, a person armed with a Kalashnikov assault rifle entered the premises of the Reina club and opened fire. Some visitors to the club in a panic jumped to Bosphorus, trying to escape. After the attack, he changed clothes and left the club, throwing weapons there.

As a result of the attack , 39 people died and 69 were injured. Three of them are still in critical condition. Among the dead 16 foreigners, including a Russian citizen Nuran Hasanov, born in 1988.

The Islamic State took responsibility for what happened. "The heroic soldier of the Caliphate struck one of the most famous nightclubs, where Christians celebrated their holiday," the IG report said.
