In Tyumen, Cossacks are going to take horses from a demolished stable from the owner to “bring them into divine form,” the portal “Vslukh” reports . ru". Animal rights activists report that the horses live practically in the snow and are starving.

The “Russian Troika” stable of Cossack Vladimir Afanasyev, who kept it for 30 years, was demolished in 2016. The land on which the building was located turned out to be owned by the development company, and the court and bailiffs decided to demolish the building.

Local animal rights activists said that after the demolition of the stables, the horses were left outside in the cold, without food or water. The stable owner, they say, does not have the funds to feed all the animals. Activists offered to take the horses and transfer some of them to the equestrian club, but the owner asked for about 100 thousand rubles for each horse. As animal rights activist Anastasia Weiss explained, the Cossack hopes that the land will be returned to him and he will be able to build a new building.

“He doesn’t care about animals, but he doesn’t have the means to support them. He loves them, but he doesn’t realize that he’s asking a lot for them,” Weiss said. The first animal rights activists intended to buy a 15-year-old dun gelding named Buran.

A week later, animal rights activists managed to collect only six of the planned 100 thousand rubles. Anastasia Weiss reported that fundraising was suspended - the Tyumen Cossacks intervened in the situation with the stable.

The ataman of Tyumen, Alexey Feoktistov, told URA.RU that the city Cossack society is going to take the horses and “bring them into divine form.”

“A Cossack will not abandon his horses in trouble. Afanasiev is afraid that we will use horses for commercial purposes, but we did not even imagine this. We just want to save animals from starvation. They did not eat or drink normally. Their hooves are not processed. In the cold, this can lead to illness,” Feoktistov said.

Alexey Feoktistov clarified to Our City that the Cossacks are ready to take the horses under an agreement - previously they were used to patrol public places. Ataman added that his Cossacks went every day to feed the horses, but Vladimir Afanasyev stopped letting them in after a visit from a film crew from one of the local TV channels. After that, the Cossacks began throwing food over the fence, he said.

The owner of the stable, Vladimir Afanasyev, does not agree with the demands of the Cossacks. “The horses are well-behaved and well-fed,” he said. “And if my animals are taken away, then I will not be able to claim the land that is being deprived of me.” I’m even ready to challenge these Cossacks to a fist fight to defend the horses.”

The ataman of the Tyumen city Cossack society agreed to the proposal to fight in a duel, clarifying that he was not going to beat an elderly man, especially when the conflict could be resolved through a peaceful conversation. The Cossacks are preparing an appeal to the prosecutor's office so that they check the care of the animals.

In June 2016, several dozen emaciated cats were found in a city apartment in Tyumen. In the abandoned apartment, volunteers counted more than thirty living cats and several dead ones. The animals were very exhausted, they had no water or food, and there was a terrible smell in the apartment.

The Tyumen animal welfare fund “Live” said that the owner of the apartment makes money by breeding purebred cats. She could send those cats that she was unable to sell to an abandoned apartment. The surviving cats were taken by volunteers.
