17th year and land issue

As science tells us, 2017 is a simple number, but for many of us, the year has traditionally began not easy. What is superfluous proof of vastness and powerlessness of any numerology. However, it is time to slowly move away from the New Year celebrations and start work for the benefit of the Fatherland, which includes for me to write letters in my favorite newspaper.

In the coming year in Russian science, of course, many important events will happen, including the elections of the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences. But the memories of the events of a hundred years ago, again, bring into the ideologically inconsistent citizens the numerological associations and eschatological expectations of chaos and revolution. In the large and small, so to speak: both on the country's scale, and on the scale of our science. Of course, in the latter case, we are not talking about any scientific breakthroughs, no, we are talking about all kinds of scientific and organizational disasters.

Among the employees of Fano, of course, in the first place, the expectation of acceleration of the academy or, in a milder version, its capture by hostile forces, proteges, in the representations of our other “progressives and liberals”, the prince of administrative darkness Mikhail Valentinovich Kovalchuk.

One of the visible and serious reasons for such eschatological expectations is, of course, a spill arranged by Vladimir Vladimirovich to the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the demonstrative exile of persons elected by members of the Russian Academy of Sciences from the ranks of officials. Our conspiracyologists interpret this as the disgrace of President of the Russian Academy of Sciences of Fortov and the entire Academy as a whole, which should lead to hard seats.

Soon, at a meeting of the Presidential Council on Science and Education, another event happened that only strengthened the confidence of morally unstable persons that the fate of the Russian Academy of Sciences was a foregone conclusion. The Moscow Government has developed a draft rules for land use and development. In the documents of the Moscow government, a map was found on which the territory of the city is divided into plots for various purposes. And the sites on which many academic institutions are located, in particular on Leninsky Prospekt, were attributed to territories intended for development.

In the minds of Soviet people, the revolution of 1917, of course, is tightly related to the land question: remember, “Earth - to peasants, factories - workers”? Therefore, lining the thunderstorm and plans of the Moscow Government, which was breaking together over the Russian Academy of Sciences, the conspiracy therapists conclude that in the coming year the academy will disperse, and its employees will be fired partly, partly distributed to the Kurchatov Institute, and partly will be expelled somewhere beyond the Moscow Ring Road. And the liberated areas in good places will be given to investors, what is the purpose and is declared the economic background of all the urge to “reform the Russian Academy of Sciences”.

What can be said for this? Of course, the reasons for the highest authorities are unknown to me, but, being a person who is prone to deep analysis and systemic synthesis, I doubt that the Academy will be abolished in 2017, and land plots occupied by academic institutions will be given to the construction of shopping centers and elite housing.

Life in our country is easier and more prosaic, you should not, I repeat, fall into numerology and wait for disasters a hundred years after the past revolution. Yes, of course, some orgmers are possible, it is impossible to exclude the transfer of some institutions to the management of various external organizations. But nothing more.

As for the land issue, then you should not expect the total seizure of lands. But, on the other hand, one cannot but admit that many of our academic institutions occupy too large land plots in fairly prestigious areas of the city and territories, frankly, are not used too effective. How many different buildings can be built in these territories, and it’s hard to say! Therefore, I do not see anything bad if some of the academic institutions will be compacted over time: a high -rise office complex will be built there, there is a shopping center, there is a hotel. Yes, in the end, even a nightclub and, so to speak, a sauna with additional services: both the city’s budget, and the people “additional services” can be much more necessary than the scientific articles that we write.
