On January 18, Judge Chernyakov of the Samara District Court of Samara extended the term of house arrest for Anna Dmitrieva, an activist of the Volya party, until February 19. This was reported on Twitter in support of the leader of the Volya party, Svetlana Lada-Rus (Peunova).
During the consideration of the issue of a measure of restraint, the court ignored the arguments of the defense that Dmitrieva was in charge of a mother and a young child.
A case was initiated against Dmitrieva under Article 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity) for reposting on the VKontakte social network. In September 2016, the court ruled to place the activist under house arrest.
