The investigative department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory began an investigation into the incident in the Krasnoyarsk nightclub, where a disabled girl was not allowed into.
On the night of January 15, a girl in a wheelchair tried to get into Harley's restaurant-bar with her friends, but the guards refused her, citing the fact that “if a fight breaks out, they will trample her.”
As explained in the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the region, if a girl was not allowed into the bar for a far-fetched reason, then the actions of the security and administration of the club show signs of a crime under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“actions aimed at humiliating the human dignity of a person on the grounds of belonging to a social group "). Based on the results of the inspection, a procedural decision will be made.
The regional department of Rospotrebnadzor also got involved in the case. They noted that the department will provide assistance in restoring the violated rights of disabled people, including protecting rights in court. The girl has the right to demand compensation for moral damage.
Earlier, the Kirov court fined the private security company Legion because their employee refused to let a man on crutches into a cafe. After the inspection, the security guard was fired. In April 2016, a security guard at a Moscow restaurant kicked out a disabled man on the orders of the manager. Later, the management of the establishment apologized, and the manager was suspended from work.
