The football stadium on Krestovsky Island in St. Petersburg needs another 1.5–2 billion rubles to adapt to the parameters of the International Football Federation (FIFA). This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and the head of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vitaly Mutko. His words are given by the Agency "R-Sport" .
"There is a project of the stadium - the requirements necessary for our championship. They are all implemented, the stadium is accepted into operation. And there is a question of its adaptation to the requirements of FIFA. These are safety requirements, entry areas. This is a larger number of press zones, requirements for information technology and so on. 1.5–2 billion this adaptation will cost," Mutko said.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the finances for finalizing the stadium will partially allocate FIFA, partly-the Russian government and regions.
On December 29, Rostekhnadzor issued a conclusion on the conformity of the constructed stadium on Krestovsky Island in St. Petersburg with the requirements of project documentation and technical regulations.
The arena has been erected since 2007. Since then, the cost of work has been repeatedly revised towards the increase, and the deadlines were transferred. The stadium will be held at the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2018 World Cup.
