The regional court upheld the sentence of ex-mayor Urlashov

The Yaroslavl regional court upheld the verdict in the case of the former mayor of Yaroslavl, Yevgeny Urlashov, who was sentenced to 12.5 years in a strict regime colony with a fine of 60 million rubles in the case of taking a bribe, Interfax . writes

In relation to the former deputy mayor Dmitry Donskov, the court upheld the acquittal, and in relation to the ex-adviser to the mayor Alexei Lopatin - a guilty verdict. In the last word, all the defendants in the case asked them to be acquitted.

The verdict was appealed by both the defendants in the case and the prosecutor's office. The state prosecution asked the court to cancel Donskov's acquittal, and Urlashov and Lopatin, in turn, stated that he, like themselves, was not guilty.

On December 21, 2016, the regional court began consideration of appeals in the “Urlashov case” and satisfied the recusal of judge Elena Irodova declared by the defense, after which the collegium began to work in a new composition. Communication with Urlashov and Lopatin was conducted via videoconferencing from the pre-trial detention center, and Donskov was in the courtroom.
