In St. Petersburg, the head of the Association of Russian Carriers Andrey Bazhutin was detained. He told OVD-Info that he was detained near his home at 8:15 am and taken to police station No. 29. Human rights activist Dinar Idrisov specified that Bazhutin was detained when he was walking with his children to school. According to him, they said that on January 19 there was to be a trial on the case of petty hooliganism in connection with the detention on December 29. At the same time, Bazhutin was not presented with any documents about the arrest, and Idrisov himself, who was involved in the case as a defense lawyer, was not notified about the trial.
On December 29, Bazhutin was detained while inspecting a barrier at the Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD) section. He spent the night in the OVD. The next day the court returned the case file to the police .
