
The Scientific Council of the SB RAS for nanotechnology and information technologies put forward Igor Bychkov to the post of head of the SB RAS, the press service of the department said. The association also supported the Academics of Mikhail Predthensky, Sergey Alekseenko and Pavel Logachev that had already entered into the struggle.
Igor Bychkov was born in Chita in 1961. He graduated from the matfack of the Irkutsk State University. Since 1981, he worked in the Irkutsk computing center (the current Institute for Dynamics of Systems and Management Theory). In December 2011, he became an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In July 2006, Bychkov became the vice mayor of Irkutsk. He was deputy Vladimir Yakubovsky. In April 2007, the scientist left the municipal service. Now Bychkov is headed by the Irkutsk Institute of Dynamics of Systems and Management Theory. He is the author and co -author of more than 150 publications, including nine collective monographs.
At the moment, the majority of the United Councils have nominated the same candidates who, at the last general meeting of the SB RAS, was proposed by the current chairman of the department, Alexander Aseev: Alekseenko and Logachev, follows from published documents. Aseev will leave the post in March 2017.
