He promised to cover the United States from "devastation" applied by other countries that "make our products, stole our companies, destroy our jobs." He promises to build new "bridges, airports, tunnels, railways." “We will follow the two rules: buy American goods and hire the Americans,” Donald Trump said. In the field of foreign policy, President Trump spoke of friendship and good feelings towards other countries. "We will not try to impose our lifestyle to them ... We will strengthen the old unions and form new ones, we will unite the civilized world in the fight against radical Islamic terrorism," said President Trump. He completed his speech by calling for unity: "When America is one, America is non -notostable."

In this sense, President Trump either incorrectly, in my opinion, assesses the role of international trade, or holds something else in the mind. For example, if he is engaged in resolving the problem of manipulations by some states with courses of his currencies or focuses on the conclusion of bilateral trading contracts to the detriment of multilateral ones, then this can bring positive results. The restriction of the import of foreign goods in the United States or the introduction of import tariffs can hardly help the American economy, and, say, if he succeeds in getting a refusal of China from discriminatory policy regarding American goods and capital, then in the long run this will turn into benefits not only for the Americans, but also for the Chinese.

The newspaper The Wall Street Journal, which is close to the Republican Party , calling Donald Trump’s inaugural speech a “loud populist manifesto”, which will please his voters, writes that such speeches are a statement about goals, not a software platform. "The irony of the situation lies in the fact that for the successful management of the country he will need the help of many of those people who stood behind him on the tribune of the Capitol. Let's hope that the 45th president will get wisdom to realize this." The newspaper had in mind the very legislators who symbolize Washington, those from whom the new president promised to take power and transfer it to the people.
