Yaki Libetsight died

On January 22, at the age of 78, the German drummer Yaki Libetsight, one of the founders of the CAN group, died.

The report on the group on Facebook says that pneumonia was the cause of death.

Yaki Libetsight was born in Dresden in 1938, in the 1960s he played Free Jazz Quintet Manfred Schoof , in 1968, along with Holger Shukai, Irmin Schmidt, Mikhael Caroli and David Johnson, formed an experimental rock band Can .

With the participation of libatsite, the group recorded all its 12 studio albums, including Tago Mago , Ege Bamyasi and Future Days , his playing style on the drums has become one of the main elements in the formation of the sound of crow-clock. According to other CAN participants, Libsight played as if he was "half a man, half a car."

After CAN, Libetsit participated in the Phantomband group, created its own Drums Off Chaos and Club Off Chaos ensembles, recorded with Michael Roter, Brian Ino, Philip Jack, Jah Ustobl and Depeche Mode .

The last release of Libetsita was in 2013 the mini-album of Cyclopean . In April 2017, together with former CAN participants Irmin Schmidt and Malcolm Muni, he was supposed to play in London at the concert “The Can Project” dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the group.
