© NTS Sevastopol / YouTube Sergius KhalutaIn the Simferopol and Crimean diocese, documents were prepared for the transfer of the State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve "Chersonesos Tauric", located in Sevastopol.
This was stated on the air of the NTS television channel, the Dean of the Sevastopol Church District Archpriest Sergius Khalut.
According to him, the Simferopol and Crimean diocese intends to insist on the implementation of the 2010 Law on the return of religious property to religious organizations. He recalled that all the structures located in the Khersonese territory previously belonged to the Vladimir Monastery, in the basement of which valuable exhibits of the museum are now stored.
“Neither the Soviet Union, nor Ukraine, nor today the Russian Federation, today has not done anything that this museum has really become a museum. There is a concept for the development of the National Reserve of Khersones Tauride. She, of course, is outside the competence of the Simferopol and Crimean diocese. But, nevertheless, we are supporters and generate the idea of the development of the National Reserve Chersonesos Tauride. This is the construction of a modern museum complex, ”Khaluta said.
He also said that the placement in the temple of the museum exposition is considered sacrilege, "therefore, it is necessary to calmly, without conflicts, gradually go to understand that God needs to be returned by God, and Caesar should be returned to the cesarean."
In July 2015, the governor of Sevastopol Sergey Avayylo appointed Sergius to Khalut as the director of the Museum-Reserve "Chersonesos Tauride". The reserve teamopposed this, the director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky called the appointment "a provocation, which is fraught with serious social exacerbations."
Soon Sergius Khalyuta resigned from the director’s post. Now the Chersonesos Tauride is headed by the former director of the State Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve Svetlana Melnikova.
PS Information on the initiative of the Simferopol and Crimean diocese commented on Interfax, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Aristarkhov.
“They filed a letter to the Federal Property Management Agency in November and received a refusal in December. He said. - We interact with the church on this issue, with Vladyka Tikhon, who is entrusted with the Lord to deal with this issue. As far as I understand, one of the reasons why the rejection of the Crimean diocese was obtained is disagreement with its highest leadership. ”
“According to the law, we are obliged to give the churches property, which was previously church, but with one condition: if the museum receives an adequate replacement for these premises. The question of the appropriateness of the return of this object is discussion. Discussion is required with the church and the museum community, with our ministry, ”Aristarkhov explained.
According to the director of Khersones Tauride Svetlana Melnikova, the transfer of the museum-reserve of the church will jeopardize his further development, RIA Novosti reports.
“When a decision is made on the transfer of the object, you need a certain roadmap, which suggests how it will be implemented. Until I see such a card. Probably, this topic needs to be safely abandoned, ”Melnikova believes.
