The rally of the defenders of the Pulkovo Observatory
On January 22, about 200 people went to the Marse Field to protest against the development of the protective park zone of the main (Pulkovo) astronomical observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The construction of the planetograd residential complex has been agreed upon bypassing the GAO regulations, and earthwork has already begun in one of the plots. The plans of developers were jealous of many years of research by scientists: light and heat from houses can forever put an end to astronomical observations.
