The former host of the “Trial is Coming” program, accused of fraud, entered into a pre-trial agreement

Former host of the television program “The Trial is Coming” Vladimir Reznik, accused of fraud, fully admitted his guilt and entered into a pre-trial agreement with the investigation, TASS reports .

Reznik himself spoke about this at a meeting in the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, where the issue of extending the preventive measure in the form of detention was being decided.

“Due to the fact that I have entered into a pre-trial agreement with the investigation and am ready to cooperate, I ask you to place me under house arrest,” said the former TV presenter, who also referred to disability and poor health.

The investigation asked the court to keep Reznik in custody, since he needs to be charged in the final version.

“The incriminated crime is serious and intentional, and the accused himself was previously convicted of a similar crime, I ask that the period of detention for him be extended for 3 months,” explained the representative of the Investigative Committee. The prosecutor's office supported this position.

A criminal case against Reznik was opened in November 2016 under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale), which carries up to 10 years in prison; a month later he was charged . According to investigators, a former TV presenter with the status of a lawyer received 4.5 million rubles from an entrepreneur accused of illegal banking activities. Reznik promised that he would get him a suspended sentence.

Previously, Reznik received two years in prison in another criminal case of fraud. According to Rosbalt, by the time the second criminal case was initiated, he had already received the status of a lawyer for the third time.
