
A temporary ban on the trade in alcohol -containing products, introduced by Rospotrebnadzor for a month at the end of December, was extended for another 60 days, according to the website of the department.
As a result of the ban on the sale of certain types of alcohol -containing products, together with the internal affairs bodies, checks that allowed to remove more than 500 thousand units of alcohol -containing non -food products from the turnover, it was possible to reduce by 33% of the number of cases of poisoning and by 65% of deaths during the New Year holidays. This confirms the effectiveness of measures taken, emphasized in Rospotrebnadzor.
The ban did not have a negative impact on the economic activity of a legal and conscientious business, the department notes. The extension of the time limits for the sale of certain types of alcohol -containing non -food products for 60 days was supported by the chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation D. A. Medvedev.
The decree "On the suspension of retail trade in alcohol -containing non -food products" was prepared on January 24.
The ban was introduced after mass poisoning in the Novo-Lenino Irkutsk microdistrict by the perfume cosmetics “Bulf” Bath concentrate, which killed 77 people.
