The arrest of the artist Alexei Knedlyakovsky for the cross on the bust of Dzerzhinsky was recognized as legal

On January 25, the Krasnodar Regional Court recognized the arrest of the artist and civil activist Alexei Knedlyakovsky for 15 days in an administrative case on the installation of a cross on the bust of Dzerzhinsky in Krasnodar. This became known from the lawyer Alexander Popkov, representing the interests of Knedlyakovsky.

Knedlyakovsky was arrested by decision of the Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar on December 23, 2016. The court refused to postpone the meeting despite the fact that Popkov's lawyer could not attend the meeting. The trial court session lasted only a few minutes. Knedlyakovsky believes that law enforcement agencies not only failed to prove his involvement in the action, but also the very fact of the event of the offense. In court, a video was presented as evidence, in which the silhouettes of people near the bust are vaguely distinguishable.

Earlier it was reported that in the Krasnodar Regional Court they lost the complaint of the lawyer Alexander Popkov against the decision to arrest Knedlyakovsky, filed on December 27. Popkov told OVD-Info that the complaint was finally found.
