Associate Professor of the Omsk State University. Dostoevsky Sergey Demchenkov, looking at the Anti-Plagiat report on someone’s thesis, found that among the mass of borrowing there is a large one-for 50 thousand signs-a piece of text, which the system considered unique. It was, apparently, an article from a regional newspaper, which was inserted several times in a row.
Demchenkova was surprised that in the report, the text from the newspaper torn a proposal for varieties of verbs. He opened a diploma at Microsoft Word, drove a phrase from a “unique” piece into search, and the text editor transferred it to that proposal about verbs. And there were no traces of a “unique” fragment in it.
Demchenkov says that for about 20 minutes he tried to find out how the author managed to hide 50 thousand signs between letters. He changed the color of the font and Kegl of the whole text, dropped formatting - but nothing helped.
As a result, the inspector found that the author created the “inscription” object in the document and inserted the entire “unique” text there. Here's how Demchenkov describes the find:
“I find the tiny object placed at the proposal about the verbs of the size of one and a half centimeters, in which the bin -bonnomic text is squeezed, recruited by the second kegle and painted white.
The pleasant property of the “inscription” object is that, even with the total allocation of the contents of the document, any font and paragraph manipulations do not affect the text of the inscription. Fragments dubious from the spelling point of view are not illuminated in it. So far, the inscription is not open for editing, for "Word" it is equivalent to the image. "
But the "Anti -Plagiat" saw the hidden text; And due to the fact that a third of the text was “unique”, the degree of “uniqueness” of the entire thesis has sharply increased.
Demchenkov said that another sophisticated method of bypassing the “anti -plagiat” using Word is also popular - the editing of the source code of the document. The .docx files are ordinary archives, inside of which there are built -in documents and the marked text. If you correctly correct the markings, the text will not be found in Word, but at the same time it can see it “anti -plagiarism”.
The assistant professor of Perm State University, Ivan Zakishchev, spoke in 2016 about another unusual document that a friend told him. Anti -Plagiat could not check the text, although he had previously found many borrowings in it.
Stagishchev discovered in the document the symbols of the Unicode, placed throughout the text. One of them was the “Jewish point” used in Hebrew. In the text, this sign looks like a point above the text: “re ֹ kl ֹ a ֹ m ֹ a - do not ֹ ֹ ֹ ֹ ֹ ֹ ֹ ֹ ֹ ֹ n ֹ n ֹ and ֹ to red ֹ o ֹ h ֹ o ֹ o ֹ o ֹ o ֹ m ֹ and ֹ k ֹ and”.
In the document to the “Jewish points”, a hidden style was applied, which changed the color of the characters to white and greatly reduced their size. Thanks to this, the inspector, opening the file, saw the ordinary text, without unnecessary details. At the same time, Antiplagiat refused to check the work because he saw such a porridge of letters and characters:
To detect hidden points, it was enough to copy the text in an empty Word document or in any other text editor.
