iPhone 7 lay at the bottom of an icy river all day: an experiment by Yakut journalists

On January 20, a Yakut fisherman dropped his iPhone, and it fell into the hole. The iPhone 7 Plus lay at the bottom for 13 hours until it was pulled out by the fisherman's friend, diver Fedor. The iPhone did not even turn off, the charge decreased from 35 to 19 percent.

The Yakut edition of Ykt.Ru decided to check whether the iPhone 7 can lie without consequences for 13 hours at the bottom of the river. The journalists cut a hole in Lena's one and a half meter ice and lowered the iPhone to a depth of 2.5 meters. The phone was wrapped in nets and tied to a centimeter tape. For the experiment on the iPhone, only 35 percent of the charge was left.

When it came time to take out the iPhone, the journalists discovered that the hole was covered, and the tape was frozen into the ice. They almost lost the phone in the river, but still got it: it was on; battery charge was 25 percent.
